Offers of financial assistance are based on a cost of attendance calculated using six factors as specified by federal rules (tuition & fees, books, & supplies, housing, dining, transportation fees, and personal expenses). Your actual price can differ.

Grants are offers of financial assistance that are determined by financial necessity. If you get a financial assistance offer that includes grants, FAU will immediately accept the Pell Grant.

For undergraduate and graduate students who are enrolled at least half-time at FAU and who can prove their financial need, there is the FAU Grant. They provide financial aid offers based on priority consideration because funds are limited.

The Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) is a need-based grant program financed by the state of Florida for undergraduate first-year students enrolled in public Florida schools.

Depending on the amount of money available, financial aid offers range from $200 to $2600 per academic year.

This grant is only valid for one year, and future years’ receipt is not assured. If they meet FSAG requirements, gifted 20 students are eligible for funding priority. To the Financial Aid Office, please bring a copy of your Talented 20 notification letter.

Only undergraduate students who show exceptional financial need and do not already hold a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree are typically eligible for federal Pell Grants.

FAU Tuition Scholarship

Scholarships are intended to promote, recognize, and help students who are pursuing leadership positions and academic distinction.

During the scholarship selection process, factors like academic success, leadership roles, campus or community involvement, employment experience, and financial need are taken into account. Using the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, they assess financial need (FAFSA).

FAU Tuition Loan

Financial aid that MUST be repaid includes loans. A loan can only be disbursed if they enrolled you at least half-time. FAU advises students to only take out loans that are necessary to pay for their academic year’s expenses.

Undergraduate and graduate students who attend at least half-time may apply for a federal direct loan.

Undergraduate students who can prove they have a need for money can apply for subsidized Federal Direct Loans. In-school interest on Subsidized Direct Loans is not the responsibility of the student.

Students who do not qualify for subsidized Federal Direct Loans or who qualify but still require additional financing can apply for unsubsidized Federal Direct Loans.

Unsubsidized Direct Loan interest that accrues while they enrolled a student in classes is their responsibility.

The annual Direct Loan borrowing limits for dependent undergraduate students are $7,500 for undergraduate students beyond sophomore standing and $5,500 for freshmen.

FAU Tuition Work Study

Federal Work-Study (FWS), a need-based part-time job program, enables qualified students to make money to assist with educational costs.

To be eligible for federal financial aid, including FWS, students must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year.

Remember that scholarships are given to students in the order they apply. There are several job opportunities for students at FAU, including FWS-funded internship and research positions.

FAU wants to enhance the number of internship opportunities available to all students on campus. Students who qualify for work-study options can have compensated opportunities to get practical work experience in their subject of study.

Students can enroll in the Professional Internships Course through the Career Center and receive 0–4 course credits.

What GPA do I Need to Get Into FAU?

A 3.0 GPA or higher over the previous 60 credits of coursework. A “B” or better in both undergraduate statistics and research methods courses a cover letter outlining the applicant’s interest in the course and motivations for applying.

Does FAU Give Full Rides?

Presidential Premier award is for students who have at least a 4.0 GPA and a 1370 SAT or 30 ACT score. They provide a book stipend besides 100% tuition and fees.

Ambassador Premier award is for students with a 4.0 GPA and a SAT or ACT score of 1280 or higher. They include a book stipend in the 75% tuition and fees award.
