JMU Tuition Financial Aid
Financial aid helps the students to fund his/her college tuition. There are four different financial aid: grants, scholarships, student loans, and work-study.

JMU Tuition Work Study
A government program made available and run by the university that offers students in need of financial assistance the chance to work part-time jobs to help pay for their tuition. It is the responsibility of the student to locate suitable work.
As earned, they distribute money through a paycheck. They may give federal Work Study to qualified students as a part of their financial aid package by the Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships.
Eligible students must be degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at least half-time, demonstrate financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and maintain excellent academic standing.
A Federal Work Study offer does not ensure employment.
JMU Tuition Loans
A type of aid that needs to be paid back. Different educational loans have different costs, rates of interest, lengths of payback, and/or borrower protections.
The Federal Government requires you to complete entrance counseling if you have never received a Direct Loan before to make sure you are aware of the duties and obligations you are accepting.

Every time you drop below a half-time enrollment, graduate, or quit school if you have received a subsidized, unsubsidized, or PLUS loan under the Direct Loan Program or the FFEL Program, you must complete exit counseling.
Graduate students may borrow money from the US Department of Education through their institution.
Graduate students can apply for up to their Cost of Attendance per year, less any other financial aid received, under this federal loan program if they have a clean credit history.
The student must first borrow the maximum amount permitted under the Federal Direct Student Loan program and be enrolled at least half-time in an appropriate program of study in order to be eligible.
JMU Tuition Grant
A federal grant given by the federal government to undergraduate students who exhibit exceptional financial need and who have an Expected Family Contribution that is below a predetermined limit set by the federal government. Based on enrollment status, they made a prorated Pell Grant grant.
An institutional federal grant given to eligible undergraduate students with a severe financial need. They give recipients of Federal Pell Grants preference.
Prior to any other student group, awards will be given to undergraduate students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree who have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of zero dollars.
They will give as long awards as there are still monies in this account because there is a few them.
JMU Tuition Scholarship
The main requirement for merit-based scholarships is superior academic achievement. Leadership, involvement, and professional aspirations may also be considered as selection criteria.
They must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid in order to be qualified for need-based scholarships at JMU (FAFSA). The Centennial Scholars Program is the largest need-based scholarship program.
They apply all JMU Foundation scholarships at James Madison University for through Madison Scholarships Hub.
