You won’t have to give MTSU the whole amount. Generally speaking, your overall financial aid and educational aid cannot exceed your COA.

Advertisment

The original calculation of an undergraduate COA uses a 14-credit average full-time enrollment.

To be considered a full-time student, you must be enrolled in at least 12 credits of the authorized curriculum.

If you are not enrolled full-time in approved curriculum, your COA will be changed and your financial aid may be reduced.

Initial calculations for a graduate COA are based on a six-credit average half-time enrollment.

MTSU Tuition Work Study

FWS (Federal Work Study) is a job-training program. It is meant to support the University and the neighborhood as well as encourage and promote the part-time employment of students who have proven financial necessity.

This program offers employment to undergraduate and graduate students in need of financial assistance as determined by the FAFSA results (FAFSA).

Due to financial constraints, there is no guarantee that FWS will be provided to all eligible students.

Due to the fact that FWS funds are not credited to a student’s account, they cannot be utilized to confirm registration.

To pay for their education, students are expected to budget their money well and use their FWS income.

The money received through FWS is not subject to repayment.

The FWS hourly wage for a student will not be less than, but it may be higher than, the federal minimum wage.

The salary rate will increase to $11.00 per hour in the fall of 2022. Students receive compensation once every month for their labor hours. In general, students are permitted to work up to 12 hours a week while classes are in session.

MTSU Tuition Loan

The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program offers federal direct student loans. Subsidized and unsubsidized Federal Direct Loans are both available through this program.

The costs of attending Middle Tennessee State University must be covered by these loans.

Subsidized loans are provided to undergraduate students who exhibit financial need as determined by the Financial Assistance Office.

For as long as you are enrolled at least half-time in school and for the six months after your withdrawal, the federal government will pay the interest on any subsidized loans you take out.

No matter their financial situation or need, student borrowers may be eligible for this kind of loan. Graduate and undergraduate students may both qualify.

You are responsible for paying interest on unsubsidized loans from the time they are disbursed until they are repaid in full.

MTSU Tuition Grant

The fact that grants are cash awards that don’t require repayment makes them comparable to scholarships.

They are, however, often given out according to financial necessity rather than clearly proven academic achievement, in contrast to scholarships.

An unreturnable Federal Pell Grant is funded by the government. Only undergraduate students pursuing degrees and who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree are eligible for the federal Pell Grant.

There is a limit to how many schools can offer a student a Federal Pell Grant at once.

For undergraduate students with exceptional financial needs who are pursuing degrees, the federal government funds the FSEOG award. An upper limit on FSEOG financing exists.

READ ALSO

The total amount of FSEOG financing is limited. Prior to the start of every new award year, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted by MTSU’s priority deadline of February 1st.

Priority will be given to students who obtain the full amount of Federal Pell Grants (zero EFC) and do so (i.e., an award year begins new each Fall term).

MTSU Tuition is a smart choice for anyone seeking a quality education without breaking the bank. With its affordable rates and financial aid options, you can achieve your academic dreams without sacrificing your financial stability.
