Emory University Tuition Work Study

An opportunity for part-time employment that depends on federal financing is the Federal Work-Study (FWS) program. Information on the FAFSA is used to establish eligibility for the FWS program.

All applicants for financial aid who is qualified for need-based aid will be considered for this program.

In their financial aid package, eligible students will notice an FWS offer with a maximum amount that can be earned over the course of the academic year.

If a student accepts an FWS offer, they will also submit an application and go through an interview for a qualifiable position.

Federal Work-Study jobs can be found on or off campus and sometimes even come with the chance to perform community service.

Federal Work-Study positions become available on Emory’s EagleOps platform in early August for the fall and remain there through late February for the spring.

At the yearly job fair conducted on campus each August, students can also learn about Federal Work-Study employment.

Emory University Tuition Loan

For degree-seeking students enrolled at least half-time, the U.S. Department of Education administers a number of low-interest programs, including:

Direct Subsidized Loans: An alternative to need-based loans to help with the expense of undergraduate study.

To apply for a subsidized loan, the FAFSA is necessary. A subsidized loan will not accrue interest as long as the borrower maintains a minimum half-time enrollment.

Six months after the borrower graduates or withdraws, payments and interest start to mount.

A non-need-based loan option for undergraduate, graduate and professional students is the Direct Unsubsidized Loan.

Interest is imposed on an unsubsidized loan from the time it is disbursed until it is fully repaid.

The amount that must be repaid in full will rise if the borrower chooses to let interest build up rather than pay it while they are still enrolled in school.

When unsubsidized loans are repaid, the interest accrued on them is capitalized once.

The Department of Education will collect an origination fee from each payment for all Federal Direct Loans.

Emory University Tuition Grant

Students who can prove they have a financial need are eligible for the Emory University Grant.

However, prorated grants are offered to seniors in their last semester who are allowed to underload. The Emory University Grant is only given to full-time students.

Students who can demonstrate a financial need are eligible for the BBA Grant.

Only full-time students are eligible for the BBA Award, but seniors in their final semester who are allowed to underload can still apply for prorated scholarships.

The federal Pell Award ranges from $750 to $6,895 for undergraduate students earning their first baccalaureate degree. Grant sums will be proportionately distributed for enrollment that is less than full-time.

Federal Pell Grant eligibility is determined by using the information from the FAFSA.For this program, there is no need to submit a separate application.

Although the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, submitting the FAFSA early will give you the best opportunity of receiving these funds if you are eligible for them.
