Hawaii Pacific University Tuition Financial Aid

The financial aid programs of HPU are meant to assist students in covering their educational costs.

The FAFSA contains the data required to calculate how much your family can donate toward your school expenses.

This is the sole form that may be used to determine your estimated family contribution if you are applying for any of the federal student aid programs [Federal Pell Grant, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), Federal Work-Study (FWS), and/or the Federal Direct Loan Programs] (EFC).

There is NO FEE to use the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, as the name suggests.

Grants are financial aid that doesn’t require repayment. Freshmen and transfer students must fill out the FAFSA in order to be considered for need-based scholarships, federal grants, and private and public student loans.

In addition to any institutional awards you may have, the federal government offers numerous grant and loan options for undergraduate students that can assist cover your tuition costs.

In some circumstances, a student participating in a postbaccalaureate teacher certification program may also be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.

This is true for undergraduates with financial needs who have not yet attained a bachelor’s or professional degree.

Federal Pell Grants are only available to students for a maximum of 12 semesters, or the equivalent (roughly 6 years).

Amounts are subject to vary each year. ANNUAL AWARD AMOUNTS The grant amount for the academic year 2023–2023 (July 1, 2023–June 30, 2023) is $6,895.

Federal Pell Grant recipients are given preference when applying for the FSEOG, which is available to undergraduate students with extraordinary financial needs if there are funds available at their institution.

Hawaii Pacific University Tuition Loan

Federal Loans are loans taken out to pay for college or technical training. Your loans must be repaid with interest.

For loans that are disbursed for the first time on or after July 1, 2023, but before July 1, 2023, the interest rate is fixed at 4.53% for the duration of the loan.

The U.S. Department of Education may stop paying interest if a student who obtained Direct Subsidized Loans for the maximum duration of time discontinues participation.

Borrowers may not receive this form of loan for more than 150 percent of the length of their program of study.

Direct unsubsidized loan For professional undergraduate and graduate students, attendance must be at least half-time; there is no requirement for financial need.

For loans first disbursed on or after July 1, 2023, but before July 1, 2023, the interest rate is 4.53% (undergraduate) and 6.08% (graduate or professional), fixed for the life of the loan.

Hawaii Pacific University Tuition Scholarship

We at HPU know that paying for college is one of the biggest expenditures you will ever make, so we want to urge you to look into any financial aid that could be available to you.

Through the admissions process, HPU offers competitive merit scholarships, talent scholarships, athletic scholarships, and other need- and non-need-based scholarships/grants.

All new incoming freshman and transfer students are immediately considered for all available merit scholarships at the time of admission; no extra application is necessary. Need-based rewards require the FAFSA.

You must be enrolled full-time in order to qualify for any institutional accolades or scholarships (12 or more credits per semester).

Prior to enrolling in at least 12 credit hours of school, the student is not eligible for institutional grants and scholarships. These benefits can be lost if full-time enrolment is not kept up.

Hawaii Pacific University Tuition Work Study

Federal work study is a way for students to make money while they are enrolled in classes and does not need a repayment. HPU provides a selection of work-study options for its students.

Both undergraduate and graduate students must apply for jobs through HPU Connect, whether they are on or off campus. One can make money while in school.

The maximum grant is based on the student’s financial need and the available money.
