George Mason Tuition Financial Aid

George Mason Tuition Grant

Students must fulfill Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements to be eligible for awards. The eligibility and funding conditions determine whether Virginia State Grants are renewed. The award has a maximum term of four years.

Institutional or state grants are not available to students who receive full-tuition scholarships from George Mason.

Grants don’t have to be repaid. Several need-based federal and state grant programs are offered at George Mason University.

For six years or its equivalent, students are eligible to earn a Pell Grant.

Undergraduates with exceptional needs—those with the lowest EFC and those who also receive Federal Pell Grants—are eligible for FSEOG.

To qualify for the restricted FSEOG subsidies, students must typically enroll in six credit hours per semester.

FSEOG is not open to students who already hold a bachelor’s degree. The funds are limited and will only be distributed so far. This means that SEOG renewal is not certain.

Virginia Commonwealth Award

A state-funded scholarship program called the Virginia Commonwealth Award helps undergraduate Virginians. To be eligible for the VA Commonwealth Award, you must enroll in a minimum of six credits per semester.

A bachelor’s degree is required in order to qualify for a Virginia Commonwealth Award. With the exception of the Virginia Two-Year College Transfer Grant, students are only permitted to earn one State Grant at a time.

George Mason Tuition Work Study

The Federal Work-Study Program (FWS) is a need-based initiative that offers eligible students part-time employment opportunities to assist in covering the costs of their post-secondary education.

Eligible students are given an allocation based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be earned through part-time employment in FWS-approved occupations on or off campus.

The program is created to give students the chance to work in a position that fits their educational schedules. For this program, students must be enrolled at least half-time.

If you want to be taken into consideration for this program, you should specify your preference on the FAFSA. If you aren’t given FWS in your initial award package, you should also get in touch with your financial aid counselor or the FWS Coordinator.
