The Office of Student Employment is responsible for administering the Federal Work-Study Program (FWS). FWS is a federal financial aid program based on need that offers part-time jobs to undergraduate students to help with education costs.

Seton Hall University Tuition Grant

Students in need who are pursuing their first bachelor’s degree can receive support through the Pell Grant program. Congress provides annual funding for the Pell Grant and determines the minimum and maximum grant amounts.

Your SHU financial aid award offer will indicate your eligibility for the Pell Grant. The FAFSA is used to determine eligibility.

Students pursuing their first bachelor’s degree who have an extreme need can apply for the federal SEOG grant. If SEOG is available to you, it will be shown on your prize offer.

Once you register, the award will be automatically handed to you; no extra application is needed. You must enroll full-time in school in order to get this stipend (12 credits per semester).

Seton Hall University Tuition Scholarship

The U.S. Department of Education offers low-interest student loans called Direct Loans. Repayment starts six months after graduation, when an academic program is finished, or when enrollment falls below the minimum requirement.

The Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan is a loan program provided by the U.S. Department of Education (PLUS).

If you are an undergraduate student who is a dependent and enrolled at least half-time, your parents may be able to take a PLUS loan to assist cover your educational costs. For the loan to be approved, parents must have good credit.

The student can be qualified for an additional Direct Unsubsidized Loan if the parent’s request for a PLUS loan is turned down.

The Nurse Faculty Loan Program (NFLP) offers loans to students enrolled in advanced education nursing programs in order to enhance the number of qualified nursing faculty. The loan carries a 3% interest rate.
