Sac State Tuition refers to the cost of attending California State University, Sacramento (Sac State), which offers a range of programs to its over 30,000 students. Tuition varies but is generally affordable compared to other universities in the state, however, the rising cost remains a concern for many students and families.
Cost of Attendance
CSU makes every effort to minimize student expenses. The Board of Trustees, the Chancellor, or the Presidents, as necessary, may approve changes to any of the CSU specified fees, therefore all fees should be viewed as estimates.
Student budgets, commonly referred to as Cost of Attendance (COA), are created to give students an estimate of the appropriate expenditures associated with attending school for a nine-month academic year.
In addition to institution-specific costs, every student enrolled at a CSU campus pays a per-semester system-wide tuition fee.
Students participating in several graduate business programs must also pay an extra per-unit charge, as do non-resident students. Please refer to the breakdown in detail below.

Sac State Tuition Financial Aid
Financial aid includes financial assistance schemes such as state grants, federal grants, federal work-study, scholarships, and student and parent loans.

Sac State Tuition Grant
Grants are a sort of aid that does not require repayment. They are based on financial need, which is established by submitting a financial aid application.
Grants may come from the federal government, your state government, your college, or a private or nonprofit organization.
Federal Pell Grants are typically only given to undergraduate students who demonstrate extreme financial need and who do not already hold a bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree.
(In rare circumstances, though, a student participating in a postbaccalaureate teacher certification program may be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant.)
The Cal Grant is a type of unrepayable financial aid available only in California.
The FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application must be used to apply for a Cal Grant. Applicants must fulfill all eligibility, financial, and minimum GPA requirements for both programs before the deadline.
Students who attend California’s public universities, state universities, community colleges, independent career colleges, or technical schools and meet certain requirements are eligible for grants.
The State University Grant (SUG) program offers need-based awards to qualified undergraduate and graduate/postbaccalaureate students who reside in California or who are otherwise eligible, such as AB 540-eligible students, depending on their financial needs.
Your campus will evaluate you for a SUG when you submit an application for financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act application (CADA).
Sac State Tuition Loan
Unlike private educational loans, which are not mandated to offer loan forgiveness benefits, federal student loans are available to the majority of students regardless of income and offer a variety of repayment alternatives.
While the student is enrolled in school and during grace periods, the government pays the interest on Direct Subsidized Loans. Loans are sums of money that you borrow and then have to repay.

Sac State Tuition Work Study
The Federal Work-Study (FWS) program allows students to gain work experience while helping them pay for their school. This program promotes work relating to the student’s field of study and community service.
FWS is administered by the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office in collaboration with the Student Employment Office and is accessible to needy undergraduate, graduate, and professional students.
It offers part-time employment while enrolled at least half-time. On-campus departments, off-campus auxiliaries, and non-profit organizations are among the FWS employers.
