Cost of Attendance
The estimated cost for a student to attend FSU is known as the Cost of Attendance (COA). It covers tuition and fees, accommodation and board charges, other expenditures necessary for earning your degree, and allowances for personal, travel, and book costs.
Depending on a student’s actual enrollment hours following a drop/add, COA amounts may change. When establishing a student’s eligibility for financial aid, the COA is considered.
The amount of need-based aid a student can get is determined by the COA less the Expected Family Contribution (from the FAFSA).
Additionally, loans like the Graduate PLUS loan may be granted up to the COA’s amount above the need that has been determined. However, the total amount of all help cannot exceed the COA.
