Mater Dei Tuition Financial Aid

BLOCS, Mater Dei Catholic School, and several parishes offer tuition aid. In order to be considered for any scholarships or tuition aid, families must submit an online application.

From 10/1/2022 until 9/8/2023, applicants can access financial aid information and applications for need-based grants and merit-based scholarships for the 2023–2024 academic year.

The administration of Mater Dei Catholic School reviews FACTS Management System-validated financial aid applications around the end of May/start of June of each academic year.

By June 30th, financial aid award letters are distributed to families, and in the July–August billing cycle, the awards are charged to each family’s tuition management account.

Award letters won’t arrive until September for late applications. Financial aid applications submitted after May 31st and not confirmed by the FACTS Management System are considered late applications.

In order to make our top-notch Catholic education affordable, we are committed to doing everything we can to assist you in obtaining the best financial aid package.

Around 75% of our undergraduate students receive financial aid in some capacity, including scholarships and need-based financial aid.

Families who might not be able to pay the full tuition otherwise are given need-based financial aid. Students who took the entrance exam at Mater Dei Catholic High School in January will be given preference.

Awards are given out on a case-by-case basis. In 2021/22, 65% of people who asked for financial aid were successful.

Mater Dei Tuition Scholarship

Based on the results of their High School Placement Exam, Mater Dei Catholic High School offers the most comprehensive scholarship program for entering ninth-graders (HSPT).

To qualify for this grant, students must take the HSPT on the Mater Dei campus on January 22, 2022. In order to compete for one of these scholarships last year, 466 eighth students from San Diego and Imperial Counties battled the rain.

These 29 HSPT Scholars from the Mater Dei Class of 2025 deserve our congratulations!

The four-year, 80% tuition-covering PRESIDENTIAL Scholarship is worth over $60,000 in total. restricted to the top 10 students who achieve a national HSPT score in the 99th percentile.

The PRINCIPAL Scholarship is worth approximately $45,000 and covers 60% of tuition for four years. limited to the top 10 students overall.

Scholarships are available to incoming 9th graders based on the results of their High School Placement Test (HSPT). All scholarships must be taken on campus at Mater Dei by students who took the HSPT.

Is Mater Dei Hard to Get Into?

Mater Dei High School has an acceptance rate of 85%, which is higher than the 84% average for all public high schools.
