Freshmen are eligible for scholarships for general academic distinction worth between $3,000 and $12,000.

Candidates for these honors are those who have been admitted as freshmen and whose academic records reach or exceed the standards for the university’s freshman class.

The freshmen class entering autumn 2023 had an average high school grade point average of 3.75 on a four-point scale and an average ACT composite score of 27 or SAT score of 1240.

Each year, between September and August, during the admissions season, transfer applicants are awarded the general academic merit scholarship. Its price ranges between $2,500 and $5,000.

Based on their overall high school GPA, merit grants will be given to accepted transfer applicants with only in-progress college coursework or one semester of college credit.

The $2,500 award is available to accept transfer students with a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 to 3.49.

Transfer students who have accepted an offer and have a high school GPA of at least 3.5 are eligible for a $5,000 annual prize.

For consideration for the highest academic achievement awards presented by Belmont University, such as the Archer Presidential Scholar or Faculty Scholar honors, candidates must have fulfilled all requirements by December 1.

The highest general academic excellence scholarship award, which is currently valued at $12,000, is also automatically available to those chosen for the named scholarship program.

These named awards acknowledge the best 2% of freshmen candidates with an average cumulative high school grade point average of 4.5 (on a 4.0 scale), an ACT composite score of 35, or an SAT score of 1530. (more than 10,000 for autumn 2023).

Belmont Tuition Work Study

Students can work on campus or for permitted off-campus community service organizations under a financial aid program called Federal Work Study (FWS), which helps them pay for their education.

Eligible students are provided FWS when they submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

The FWS program encourages community service and works in areas related to your field of study. There are many FWS positions available, but unlike BSE positions, FWS positions are supported by Student Financial Services.

Belmont Tuition Loan

Belmont students and their parents have access to Subsidized, Unsubsidized, Parent, and Grad PLUS loans through the Direct Loan Program.

Direct Loans provide both students and parents with low-interest loans to help with the cost of a student’s post-high school education.

The U.S. Department of Education, not a bank or other financial institution, is the lender (the Department).

According to federal regulations, undergraduate students with clearly outlined financial needs are qualified for subsidized loans.

Belmont Tuition Grant

The Pell Grant is a federal award for undergraduate students. The U.S. Department of Education makes the determination of eligibility. The Expected Family Contribution (EFC) Formula is the established yardstick for determining financial necessity.

The most meritorious Federal Pell Grant grantees are given the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG), which is issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Does Belmont University give full-ride Scholarships?

The Archer Presidential Scholarship, which is given to about five incoming freshmen, is Belmont’s most competitive scholarship.
