ECU Tuition Financial Aid

Federal, state, and institutional programs all offer financial aid to eligible students. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to apply for financial aid:

Because 78% of our kids receive financial aid, we strongly advise all families to complete the FAFSA. On October 1, the FAFSA becomes available.

The priority FAFSA submission deadline for ECU is March 1, and they distribute financial aid on a first-come, first-served basis. Federal School Code 002923 designates ECU.

The Office of University Scholarships administers the scholarship application process separately.

We advise you to apply to ECU no later than December 15 in order to be admitted in time to submit applications for scholarships by the January 15 deadline. The deadline for most university scholarships is January 15.

Grant

Grants are sums of money that don’t need to be paid back. Students who have the highest financial need—as assessed by the FAFSA — receive grants.

They give Pell Grants to undergraduate students without a bachelor’s degree who have a considerable financial need as determined by the need-analysis model used by the Department of Education to determine a family’s capacity to pay for educational costs.

A student may earn a Federal Pell grant for a maximum of six years.

Students with exceptionally high financial needs may be eligible for a Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG).

They give PELL beneficiaries preference. Your financial need, the timing of your application, the amount of other aid you are receiving, and the quantity of money available at ECU will all impact the amount you receive.

ECUGs (ECU Grant) are given to full-time undergrads who have no prior bachelor’s degree and whose projected family contribution ranges from 0 to 10.000.

ECU Tuition Work Study

Students who are currently enrolled at ECU and in good academic standing can find part-time employment both on and off campus through the ECU Student Employment Office (SEO) (minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA).

A federally funded program called the Federal Work-Study Program (FWS) offers part-time employment possibilities both on and off campus and in the neighborhood.

Undergraduate and graduate students who have received FWS from the ECU Office of Student Financial Aid are eligible to use it. Filling out the FAFSA determines eligibility for FWS.

ECU Tuition Loan

The U.S. Department of Education offers the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program (Direct Loan Program), a low-interest loan program that enables qualified students and parents to borrow money to help with educational expenditures.

The Direct Stafford Loan, Direct Parent PLUS Loan, and Direct Graduate PLUS Loan are all parts of the Direct Loan Program.

Only eligible undergraduate students are given Direct Subsidized Stafford Loan depending on their financial needs. As long as they enrolled the student at least half-time at ECU, the U.S. Department of Education will pay the interest.

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Without regard to their level of financial need, they give loans to qualified undergraduate, graduate, professional, medical, and dental students.

Although interest accumulates on the day of disbursement, students who choose to pay interest while they are still in school can avoid capitalizing interest. They increase the principal of the loan when interest is capitalized.

How much is the ECU Application Fee?

Nonrefundable Application fee of $75. Official high school transcript with the current grade point average on a 4.0 scale and the courses being taken for the senior year.
