Our admissions process is need-blind for eligible U.S. Citizens and qualified non-citizens since brilliance and potential know no social, cultural, economic, or geographic barriers.

100% of a family’s exhibited financial need will be covered by Vanderbilt.

There are no loans included in financial aid awards. Undergraduate students are not eligible for need-based loans; instead, Vanderbilt provides additional grant support. Income “cut-offs” or bands that affect or restrict eligibility are not present in this.

Vanderbilt University Tuition Scholarship

Vanderbilt offers merit-based scholarships each year to those who exhibit remarkable achievement and intellectual promise.

Due to the small number of merit scholarships available, the selection process for these students, who represent the top 1% of all freshmen applicants to Vanderbilt, is extremely difficult.

As long as the winner maintains a good GPA, all merit-based scholarships given at Vanderbilt are renewable for four years of undergraduate study.

According to enrolment, a certain number of scholarships are given out by each of the four undergraduate institutions. Unless otherwise stated, financial need is not a consideration.

Vanderbilt University Tuition Loan

Loans are not included in financial aid packages as a result of our initiative to replace need-based loans with greater Vanderbilt scholarship and/or grant (gift) assistance.

Loans from federal and other sources may eventually be made available to students upon their request to replace any work expectation in the award.

It can also be to replace a portion of the family’s expected contribution, but only under specific circumstances and based on specific family circumstances or desires.
