UMiami Tuition Financial Aid

The University of Miami is dedicated to helping its students who have a clear financial need pay for their college education by offering a number of financial aid alternatives.

Each aid application will be thoroughly examined based on the financial need of the applicant before receiving a special award package that may include one or more of the following forms of assistance.

UMiami Tuition Loan

Loans are sums of money taken out by the student and/or parent. Loans typically have a time limit and an interest charge that must be paid back.

Students may be qualified for one academic year of federal direct student loans during the usual academic year (fall, spring, and summer terms).

Financial assistance awards may include a Federal Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan for students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and meet the eligibility requirements.

A Federal Parent PLUS Loan with a credit component may be available to parents of dependent students. The annual cost of attendance less any grants or scholarships earned constitutes the maximum amount of this loan.

UMiami Tuition Scholarship

Merit scholarships are automatically given consideration for all first-year students starting in the fall.

The diverse experiences, accomplishments, and interests of the University of Miami scholars, who come from all over the world, help to foster the university’s thriving academic community.

Many reach the top of our application pool and exhibit notable academic achievements in a demanding and well-rounded curriculum, a strong work ethic, and significant extracurricular activity.

One merit scholarship may be obtained from the Office of Undergraduate Admission, and recipients are informed of their award at the time of admission.

Candidates for Premier Scholarships may include the most academically talented first-year class members.

The Stamps Scholarship is the best merit award available to the University of Miami students. This prize is awarded to outstanding high school seniors who have excelled academically.

All living expenses for four years of undergraduate study at UM are provided for Stamps Scholars.

UMiami Tuition Work Study

A federally supported financial assistance program called Federal Work-Study (FWS) offers grants to students based on their financial aid eligibility as established by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other considerations.

It includes Community Service Work Study (CSFWS). This program only has a little amount of funding.

While giving some money to students, the federal government subsidizes the employer’s pay. However, the employer pays a portion of the salaries and FWS pays the remainder.

The student is compensated at the pre-determined hourly rate. A job could be with an off-campus community service organization or a department on campus.
