Staff members of the financial assistance department will not behave to be helpful to them personally or that may be viewed as a conflict of interest. The financial help office staff will not provide financial aid to themselves or their close relatives.

To prevent the impression of a conflict of interest, staff will reserve this responsibility for a person who has been specifically designated by the institution.

Vanderbilt University does not permit conflicts of interest regarding the duties of officials, employees, or agents of the University in relation. 1. Revenue-Sharing Arrangements are Prohibited

They do not permit the University to enter a revenue-sharing agreement with any lender or other vendor doing business with any of its offices that handle financial assistance issues. They do not permit the University to take payment or any other pecuniary gain for suggesting a lender to its students.

2. A Gift Ban

They do not permit a member of the financial aid staff to take from a financial assistance applicant or that applicant’s family any cash, gift, or benefit over a de minimus sum. No University official or employee with financial assistance duties may request or receive a gift from a lender, guarantor, or servicer of student loans that exceeds a de minimis sum.

3. Contracting Agreements Unlawful

No University official or employee with financial aid duties may receive money or any financial advantage from a lender or lender associate for any kind of consulting agreement or other contract to perform services to a lender.

4. Interactions

The financial assistance office only provides factual, unbiased information that is not skewed toward real or future personal advantage. Unless mandated by law, the University shall not automatically assign any borrower to a specific lender, nor shall it refuse to certify or postpone certifying any loan based on the lender or guarantee agency chosen by the borrower.

5. Barring of Funds Offers for Private Loans

If a lender offers the University money to be used for private education loans for the University giving the lender a certain number or volume of federal loans or for inclusion on a favored lender list, the University should not seek or accept the offer from the lender.

6. Banning Staff Assistance

The University shall not ask any lender for or accept any help with contact center staffing or financial aid office personnel unless law has specifically allowed such help.

For instance, lenders could offer clients educational advice materials, financial aid administrators professional development training, or support during natural catastrophes that the state or the federal government has declared.

7. Support for Advisory Boards

It is against the law for anybody in charge of financial aid to accept anything for serving on an advisory board for a lender or guarantor. However, it is acceptable to receive payment for or reimbursement for reasonable costs spent in connection with such services.

Vanderbilt Tuition Scholarship

Vanderbilt offers merit-based scholarships each year to those who exhibit remarkable achievement and intellectual promise.

Because of the small amount of merit scholarships available, the selection process for these students, who represent the top 1% of all freshmen applicants to Vanderbilt, is extremely difficult.

As long as the winner maintains a good GPA, all merit-based scholarships given at Vanderbilt are renewable for four years of undergraduate study.

According to enrolment, they give a certain number of scholarships out by each of the four undergraduate institutions. Unless otherwise stated, financial necessity is not a consideration.

Does Vanderbilt Give Full Rides?

If given a merit scholarship, you will get the same sum for each of the four years you spend studying at Vanderbilt to earn an MD. Awards based on merit are taken into account for international students. Students received scholarships for both 75% of tuition and full tuition in 2023–2023.
