Duke University Tuition Financial Aid

51% of Duke University’s full-time undergraduate students who were enrolled full-time earned grants, scholarships, or fellowships from the school or from federal, state, or local government organizations. Each student received $50,914 in help for the 2023–2023 academic year.

Aid from grants and scholarships is not subject to repayment. 14% of undergraduates took out private student loans with an average of $8,226 while 19% of students received federal student loans with an average of $4,029 each.

You don’t have to pay back grant help. Different sources may provide grant funding. The two most frequent sources of funding for Duke students are institutional grants from the university and federal or state grants from the government.

When a student applies to Duke, they are all immediately evaluated for merit scholarships. There isn’t a separate application for merit scholarships. The Robertson Scholarship and the Nakayama Scholarship are the two exceptions.

They give a type of grant aid known as an outside scholarship to students by outside organizations like neighborhood nonprofits or small businesses.
