Like scholarships, grants offer financial aid that doesn’t have to be repaid. The money is used for school costs in the same manner as student loans.

Undergraduate Pell Grants are dependent on family support. The maximum Pell Grant for 2023–2023 is $6,495.

Undergraduate students who exhibit a high level of financial need are given SEOG grants. These funds are an addition to the UC Santa Cruz Grants program. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must submit their applications by the deadlines.

Loans for education are long-term finances that help parents and students pay for educational costs. When you accept a loan, you are bound by law to repay it in accordance with the promissory note’s provisions.

Parents and students can apply for federal direct loans regardless of household income. Compared to most private/bank loans, federal loans have better terms.

Most bank loans have high-interest rates and lack the deferment rights that government loans have.

Federal Direct Loan repayments may be postponed until the borrower drops below a half-time undergraduate or graduate enrollment requirement.
