In Dayton, Ohio, the University of Dayton is a private, Catholic research university.

The Society of Mary founded it in 1850, and it is one of three Marianist universities in the country, as well as the second-largest private university in Ohio.

Acceptance Rate of the University of Dayton Admissions

With an acceptance percentage of 81%, Dayton admissions is selective. Students admitted to Dayton have an average SAT score of 1080-1300 or an ACT score of 23-29.

This shows that the school is only lightly selective. The school will have their expected GPA and SAT/ACT requirements.

If you meet their qualifications, you are almost certain to get accepted. However, if you do not match the University of Dayton’s requirements, you will be one of the unlucky few who are refused.

GPA Requirements for University of Dayton Admissions

The University of Dayton expects you to be towards the top of your class and well above average with a GPA of 3.82. Your transcript should be filled with largely A’s.

You should also have taken many AP or IB classes to show that you can handle academics at the college level.

If you are a junior or senior, it is difficult to change your GPA in time for college applications. If your GPA is at or below the school average of 3.82, you’ll need to improve your SAT or ACT score. This will allow you to compete effectively against applicants with greater GPAs than you.

The average SAT composite score at the University of Dayton is 1180 on a 1600 SAT scale.

This result puts the University of Dayton in the running for SAT test scores.

The New SAT 25th percentile score is 1130, and the New SAT 75th percentile score is 1220. A New SAT score of 1130 places you below average, while a score of 1220 positions you above average.

ACT Requirements for University of Dayton Admissions

At the University of Dayton, the average ACT score is 26. This score places the University of Dayton in the Moderately Competitive category for ACT scores.

The ACT score in the 25th percentile is 24, and the ACT score in the 75th percentile is 27.

Even if the University of Dayton says there is no minimum ACT requirement, if you apply with a 24 or lower, you will have a more difficult time getting in, unless you have something else noteworthy in your application.
