Richmond, Kentucky’s Eastern Kentucky University is a public university.

With over 40 online undergraduate and graduate choices, EKU, a regional comprehensive university, also operates branch campuses in Corbin, Hazard, Lancaster, and Manchester.

Public university EKU offers 108 undergraduate and graduate courses both on-campus and online.

The EKU has 15,815 students registered, of which 2% are gifted international students from all over the world who want to study in the US.

With a 98% acceptance rate, Eastern Kentucky admissions are not very selective. The average SAT or ACT score of applicants at Eastern Kentucky is between 950 and 1170, respectively.

The school is therefore just minimally selective. The school will have its expected GPA and SAT/ACT score criteria.

You are likely to receive an offer of admission if you match their prerequisites.

However, if you fall short of Eastern Kentucky University’s requirements, you’ll be one of the unfortunate ones who is turned down.

GPA Requirements for EKU Admissions

Eastern Kentucky University allows students with GPAs as low as 3.29.

It’s acceptable to have a B average with some A’s thrown in. Avoid C’s and D’s at all costs because they may make readers of your application wonder if you can take the pressure of college coursework.

It’s challenging to change your GPA in time for college applications if you’re currently a junior or senior.

You will require a better SAT or ACT score to make up for a GPA that is equal to or lower than the school average of 3.29.

You will be better able to compete with applicants who have GPAs that are higher than yours thanks to this.

SAT Requirements for EKU Admissions

Eastern Kentucky University’s average composite SAT score is a 1040 on a 1600-point scale. Eastern Kentucky University is Lightly Competitive for SAT test scores with this score.

The 25th percentile and 75th percentile New SAT scores are 920 and 1180, respectively.

To put it another way, a score of 920 on the New SAT places you below average, and a score of 1180 puts you above average.

ACT Requirements for EKU Admissions

Eastern Kentucky University’s average ACT score is 22. Eastern Kentucky University is Moderately Competitive for ACT scores with this score.

The ACT score for the 25th percentile is 19, and the ACT score for the 75th percentile is 24.

If you apply with an ACT score of 19 or lower, you’ll have a harder difficulty getting in, unless you have something else noteworthy in your application.

Most family farms in the area have vanished with the beginning of surface mining in the 1940s and 1950s; the area is noted for its coal mining.

How Long Does Eku Orientation Last?

Orientation will essentially go for 2.5 hours through Hop-in. We will offer orientation in-person from 9 AM to 3 PM.

What is Eku Mascot?

The Colonel is the mascot at EKU, while maroon and white are the school colors.

The school now emphasizes that all teams are now Colonels, even, though the women’s teams used to be known as the Lady Colonels.

Does Eku Require a Letter of Recommendation?

The GRE is unnecessary for applicants with a total undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Two (2) letters of recommendation from people who are familiar with the applicant’s academic or professional background are required.

You must have graduated from a recognized high school and got a minimum cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale in order to be admitted with conditions.

OR got a diploma of general equivalency (G.E.D.) OR finished a school course that EKU approved.

Because admittance to this school is slightly competitive, having high academic credentials is essential.
