The budgets for student expenses include allowances for the price of books and supplies, transportation, food, housing, and other personal expenses in addition to the expected tuition and fee costs.

These spending budgets account for all financial aid, including student loans, that students may be eligible to receive.

A number of variable factors, such as the following, are used to build the student expense budget:

  • Residence of the student (at home with their parents, on-campus, or off-campus).
  • The legal residence of the student.
  • State of the pupil’s enrollment (the number of credits for which the student enrolls).
  • To view the attendance cost, please select the relevant level:
  • It is possible for independent students to change their expense budget if they have to pay for elder or child care.
  • The FGCU Office of the Bursar website contains information about the tuition and fee schedule.

A form of financial aid that does not demand repayment is a grant. FGCU participates in various need-based grant programs provided by the federal and state governments.

Undergraduate students without a bachelor’s degree who may show financial need are eligible for the federal Pell Grant.

The two factors utilized to establish a student’s eligibility are the anticipated family contribution (EFC) from the FAFSA and their attendance status at the conclusion of each semester’s add/drop period.

For the academic year (fall/spring) 2020–2021, awards are anticipated to range from $639 to $6,345.

Each year, students are eligible for up to 150% of their planned Pell grants, which are three full-time semester grants.

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Award is offered to undergraduates with a great deal of financial need (i.e. they have a low EFC and are also Federal Pell Grant recipients).

Depending on how much money the college receives, prizes might range from $200 to $1000 each academic year.

Not all students who meet the qualifying and deadline requirements will be awarded this grant due to a lack of resources. This grant is only valid for one year, and future years’ receipt is not certain.

Financially strapped students who file their FAFSA by the March 1 priority deadline are eligible for the FGCU Undergraduate Grant.

Students who enroll in at least twelve undergraduate credits every semester are eligible for full-time grants; those who enroll in fewer than twelve credits are eligible for prorated rewards.

Students must take a minimum of six undergraduate credits per semester to qualify.

FGCU Tuition Scholarship

Each year, FGCU awards $30 million in scholarships. Scholarships are given out based on a range of criteria, including leadership, academic excellence, and financial need.

The Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation has created academic merit and need-based scholarships for FGCU students thanks to the generosity of numerous people, alumni, neighborhood philanthropists, charitable organizations, and businesses.

This previous year, the Foundation awarded almost $5 million in scholarships.

FGCU Tuition Loan

Federal Direct Loans are low-interest loans provided for students and parents to assist in covering the expense of a student’s education.

The United States Department of Education is one that lends these federal loans. Students at FGCU are highly urged to take out loans solely for the sum required to cover their tuition for the academic year.

The three different Federal Direct loan programs in FGCU include:

Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans

Federal Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans are given to students who can show they have a financial need (only for students).

The federal government covers the interest on subsidized Stafford Loans while the borrower is attending classes, throughout the grace period, and during any approved deferments.

Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

Unsubsidized Direct Stafford Loans are the name of the federal government’s student-only loans, which are not given out based on financial need.

With regard to Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, the interest that accrues while the borrower is attending classes is completely the borrower’s responsibility.

Federal Direct PLUS Loans

Federal Direct PLUS Loans (for parents only) are federal loans that parents of dependent undergraduate students may use to assist in covering educational costs.

Up to the cost of attendance less any other financial aid, PLUS loans assist in covering educational costs. Parent PLUS loan applicants are not allowed to have a bad credit history (a credit check will be done).

If the biological or adoptive parent has already remarried at the time of application, the borrower must be the student’s stepparent.

A dependent student who is enrolled at least half-time in a program-participating institution must be the borrower’s kid in order to qualify.

Making the greatest choices for your education and financial future requires a grasp of the prices and resources that are available.
