Duke Tuition Fees Explanation
1. Activity Fee
They classify mandatory activity fees into three sorts. Most graduate and professional school students must pay the Graduate Student Activity Fee.
All undergraduate students must pay the Undergraduate Student Activity Fee. They assess engineering Government Dues to all Pratt School of Engineering undergraduate students. These fees support the Duke Student Government and other allowed student groups.
2. Dining fee
Dining fees are determined by the meal plan selected by the student. The Dining plan charge is a cost for administrative services provided by Dining Services.
3. Registration Fee
Undergraduate students (including transfer students) must pay a nonrefundable registration fee, which includes a onetime transcript processing cost, on their first bill from Duke.

4. Health Fee
They levied this necessary fee on all students and goes toward a range of programs and activities that promote a healthy campus community.
5. Housing
They charge rent depending on the student’s on-campus housing assignment.
6. Insurance
All full-time and part-time degree-seeking students at Duke University must have adequate medical insurance.
7. Transcript Fee
Most programs charge this onetime fee to first-year students, which grants current and previous students access to an unlimited number of academic transcripts. The onetime First Time Registration Fee is also levied to first-year undergraduate students.
8. Tuition and Program Fee
Tuition is payable based on the student’s registration and the program of study requirements. Many graduate and professional institutions charge fees for societies, professional dues, lab fees, and/or computer use.
9. Ticket fee
Students who receive traffic or parking citations have around 15 days to pay the fine directly to the Traffic Enforcement Office. They charge unpaid tickets to the student’s Bursar account. The date on the statement corresponds to when the ticket was sent to the Bursar’s Office account.

Duke Tuition Financial Aid
We calculate your financial aid by deducting your Cost of Attendance from your Expected Family Contribution (EFC):

When you get your financial help package, it will most likely include three components: a loan, a work-study award, and a grant.
Duke Tuition Loan
If your family’s total income exceeds $40,000, a federal loan will be part of the help package. Federal student loans are usually the finest loans a student can get.
Your family’s overall income decides the amount of your aid that will make up a loan, but the maximum loan we will include in your aid offer each year is $5,000.
Duke Tuition Study of Work
Students’ financial help packages include $2,200 in work study.
We will incorporate Federal Work Study if you are eligible. If you are not qualified for Federal Work Study, we will substitute Duke Work Study.

Duke Tuition Grant
After we’ve resolved your debts and work study, the rest of your financial help package will be grant aid. So, if you receive $50,000 in help, we will deduct your $5,000 federal loan and your $2,200 work-study offer, giving you $42,800 in grant money.
Depending on the grants or endowments for which you are qualified, your grant help may be labeled “Duke Grant” or a different name.
