Appeals from April 2024 onwards are ‘new’ because they need to be considered by the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals (ITSAA). The body works independently from Sassa and can take up to three months to evaluate R350 grant appeal applications.

Old appeals refers to appeals logged by applicants between May 2024 to March 2024. These appeals are considered Sassa. Clients can track these appeal applications to determine their outcome and whether or not they will be paid the R350 grant.

Unsuccessful R350 grant applicants must submit an appeal application for each month in which their application was rejected by Sassa. This should only be done if clients believe they are eligible for the R350 grant.
