Application for Free Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA; Fill out a FAFSA and attend the entrance counseling required by the federal government at studentaid.gov.
Even though there are two requirements for it in the Financial Aid part of Student Self-Service on Bannerweb, first-time borrowers of Federal Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans are only required to complete ONE Loan Entrance Counseling for both loans.
Both subsidized and unsubsidized loans will accept one counseling session as proof of completion.
Stafford Loans: Fill out and electronically sign the Master Promissory Note requested by the federal government at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action.
Plus Loans: Fill out and electronically sign the Master Promissory Note and application for a Plus loan that the federal government requires at https://studentloans.gov/myDirectLoan/index.action.
Clark Atlanta University Tuition Work Study
Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a need-based, publicly sponsored program that aims to assist students in covering their educational expenses.
While enrolled at Clark Atlanta University, gives students the opportunity to participate in part-time jobs on or off campus in the community.
The Federal Work Study Coordinator at Clark Atlanta University and the Office of Financial Aid will work as hard as they can to match students with jobs depending on their course of study (major), skills, and supervisors’ needs.
The instructors and staff at Clark Atlanta University are aware that FWS students are first and foremost students, and that their professions come second. Supervisors must try their best to accommodate students’ academic schedules.
FWS students cannot take the position of full-time employees since school comes first. The survival of this federally supported program depends on strict adherence to all laws and regulations.
Federal financial support given to the University may be lost or reduced if all laws and rules are not followed.
Clark Atlanta University Tuition Scholarship
When first-year students apply to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, they are automatically taken into consideration for merit-based scholarships.
Students must have a least 3.2 GPA, 1100 on the SAT, or 22 on the ACT to be eligible for merit scholarships, which are competitive.
However, reaching the minimum requirements does not ensure that a scholarship will be offered. After a decision about a scholarship has been made, students who receive an offer from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions are informed by email.
Continuing sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have not yet completed eight semesters of CAU attendance are eligible for the Undergraduate Studies Scholarship Program.
Academic success and expected family contribution (EFC) are taken into account while making awards. Students who qualify for Pell grants are given precedence.
Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and submit their FASFA no later than February 1 in order to be considered.
You cannot use summer courses to make up for missed credits or to raise your GPA.
Awards will differ annually depending on GPA and the total amount of funding available and there is no need to submit an application. The summer before the award year, recipients are advised of their status.
Each section of the online application must be filled out by applicants. Applications are examined continuously. The deadline for first-year scholarship applications is April 15.
