About Munich Reinsurance

Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited has been operating in South Africa for over 50 years. However, the Munich Re Group was active in the continent via Munich Re in Munich for some years prior to commencing the Southern African operation in Johannesburg in 1968.

A new business strategy for Africa, which has been in place since 2015 was designed to focus skills and expertise in one central hub in Johannesburg. This strategy has reaped positive benefits  –  a “one-stop shop” for clients, with centralised knowledge across all classes easily at hand.
