Step-by-Step Procedure to Jump Start a Car

Before you start, it’s wise to borrow the car of a happy lender. The simple steps are;

Set up the two vehicles in a row.

Ensure that the batteries of both vehicles are within easy access to each other. 

Also, ensure they aren’t touching each other. Next, hold the handbrakes turned off the ignitions.

Attach jumper wire to the red jumper cable.

Connect the functional battery’s positive (+) terminal to the flat battery’s positive (+) terminal using the red jumper wire.

Attach the black jump lead.

Attaching the black jumper leads to the battery’s negative (-) connector.

Connect one end to an unpainted metal surface (such as the engine compartment or chassis) far from the batteries and the fuel system to complete the procedure.

Stem the other vehicle.

Switch off both engines, wait for three minutes before starting the working vehicle, and run it on for one minute.

Get Behind the wheel.

Switch on the engine of the dead’s battery car. Let the two vehicles operate simultaneously. Ten minutes of fast idling is enough to cool down both automobiles.

Turn off and deactivate your devices

After turning off the engines of both vehicles, reversibly unplug the wires carefully. 

Discard the black lead from your car first and complete it with the red lead from the lender’s car. 

Restart your vehicle
