Youth Health Africa (YHA) is a youth-focused organization addressing key social determinants of health and Youth Unemployment through various integrated and innovative interventions.

YHA’s flagship program is a one-year Skills Development Program, integrated with HIV Testing Campaigns, Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) Prevention Programmes, Youth Testing Teams, Adolescent and Youth Friendly Services (AYFS) Support, and Digital Media Campaigns.

We develop masses of African youths to become Employable, Empowered, and Healthy by focusing on the two challenges mentioned above. YHA has a nationwide presence in South Africa and has influenced over 2300 young people while actively altering their communities.

Finally, YHA aspires to work across Africa, empowering and harnessing the continent’s current and anticipated youth boom.

Graduate Intern Compliance

Responsibilities of Applicants for the Youth Health Africa Programme 2024

  • Resolve initial partner-related issues in relation to programming
  • Proactively raise issues in relation to grant conditions.
  • Monitor and highlight any possible identified anomalies on partner grants.
  • Coordinate preparation of donor reports.
  • Track partner and donor reporting schedule.
  • Review of project expenditure financial reports in line with agreements for compliance and accuracy.
  • Review of supporting documents/invoices in line with donor policies & procedures
  • Support year-end processes with coordinating accruals.
  • Provide support to Programme officers in line with partner agreements
  • Conduct monitoring support field visits.
  • Capacity building of project teams on financial and project reporting templates.
  • Prepare donor income confirmation letters.
  • Update and filing of donor contracts & partner contracts.
  • Manage donor bank income tracker/schedule in line with contracts.
  • Participate in weekly Program Team staff meetings, including the provision of work-related updates
  • Support proposal development process with compiling support documents.
  • Keep and track company documents especially those required during grant writing and reporting.
  • Review budgets for compliance with donor requirements.
  • Support the BBBEE verification process.
  • Support other auditing requirements.
  • Prepare for any due diligence by donors and partners.
  • Support risk management process.
  • From time to time, you will be required to complete tasks that fall outside your job description as per request by your line manager.

Requirements for the Youth Health Africa Programme 2024

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Internal Auditing or Accounting or B. Com. Law or Accounting or Internal Auditing

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (Intermediate to Advanced capability
  • Professional, flexible, and a can-do attitude
  • Essential skills for consideration include a highly tuned detail orientation and a process and system mindset (Attention to detail & deadline driven)
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work across teams and individuals in a collaborative manner.
  • Inter-personal
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills proficiency in thinking on one’s feet and arriving at solutions that benefit the organization.
