SMU is also accepting applications from candidates interested in post-first degree law, post-graduate admission, international admission, distance education admission and graduate entry Medical Programmes.

SMU Application Dates for 2024: Applications are open on the following dates;
- 30th September 2024 is the closing date to apply for the following courses: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB); Bachelor of Diagnostic Radiography (B Rad); Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS); Bachelor of Dental Therapy (BDT); Bachelor of Oral Hygiene (BoH); Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm); and Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy (BSc Physio).
- 30th September 2024 is the closing date to apply for the following courses: Bachelor of Nursing Sciences and Art (B NSC / B Cur); Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (B SLP & A); Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (B Occ Ther); Bachelor of Science in Dietetics (BSc Dietetics); Bachelor of Science (BSc) majoring in Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Physics, Physiology, Psychology, Statistics.
- All other programmes are also scheduled to close on 30th September 2024.

SMU Late application will be considered if only there are available spaces in the programmes that you want to study.
The Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences offers admission to a limited number of students per programme. Therefore we would advise you to apply within the application cycle so that your application will be accepted and processed by the school.
