CanyonCoal invites applications for the internship Programme 2024 that will run for 12 months in various disciplines/fields of study.

Canyon Coal is a coal exploration, mining and processing company. It operates collieries and processing plants in the Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces of South Africa. Canyon is also involved in various exploration projects in different parts of the country.

Canyon’s current operations comprise Khanye, Phalanndwa (and Phalanndwa Extension), and Ukufisa Collieries. Phalanndwa Colliery and Phalanndwa Extension are located in Delmas, Mpumalanga, Ukufisa Colliery, in Springs, Gauteng, and Khanye Colliery, in Bronkhorstspruit, Gauteng. All produce a bituminous product used for local consumption and export markets. In addition to having operational mines, Canyon also has an active exploration portfolio that aims to unlock potential resources.
Through equitable partnerships and acquisitions, Canyon has expanded its operations by acquiring strategic resources to supplement its current operations while developing new ones.
Canyon is mindful of the impact that mining has on the environment and surrounding communities. Hence compliance with applicable legislation is a top priority in all areas of Canyon’s operations in its efforts to minimise its mine’s impact on life and the environment.

- Duties and Responsibilities Of Applicants
- General administrative support tasks
- Social media posting
- Unifying company-related documents to meet the corporate identity specifications
- Transcribing of minutes, interviews and recordings of events
- Media monitoring
- Typing, compiling and preparing reports, publications and correspondence
- Planning for inhouse and corporate events
- Communicating with suppliers and service providers during event preparation
- Preparation and ordering of branded material
- Management of the company’s digital media library
- Compiling event budgets, evaluations & reports
- Participating in team meetings and providing detailed feedback on tasks
Requirements For CanyonCoal Programme 2024 Applicants
- Candidates for the CanyonCoal internship programme 2024 must have a Diploma or Degree in one of these fields:
- Communications
- Public Relations
- Media Studies
- Must be aged between 18 and 35 years old
- Must be residing in Springs or nearby
