With its main campus in Morgantown, West Virginia, West Virginia Institution (WVU) is a public land-grant research university.

According to the admissions data, most WVU’s accepted students scored in the top 35% nationwide on the SAT.
On the evidence-based reading and writing component, 50% of West Virginia University candidates got scores between 530 and 620, while 25% received scores below 530 and 25% received scores beyond 620.
50% of accepted students scored between 520 and 620 on the arithmetic section, 25% below 520, and 25% over 620. A composite SAT score of 1440 or higher will put applicants in a competitive position at WVU.
Requirements
The SAT writing component and SAT Subject tests are not required for admission to West Virginia University. WVU takes part in the score choice program.

ACT Scores and Requirements
All applicants must submit their SAT or ACT scores to WVU. In the admissions season for 2017–18, 65% of accepted students reported their ACT scores.
According to admissions data, most WVU’s accepted students scored in the top 42% nationwide on the ACT.
In addition, 25% of those admitted to West Virginia University had ACT composite scores over 27, while 25% had ACT composite scores below 21, placing the middle 50% of applicants between 21 and 27.
Requirements
WVU does not require the ACT writing section. Unlike many other universities, West Virginia University superscores ACT results; your highest subscores from several ACT sittings will be approved.
