About the VCU 

Richmond, Virginia’s Virginia Commonwealth Institution (VCU) is a public research university. As the medical division of Hampden-Sydney College, VCU was established in 1838. It changed its name to the Medical College of Virginia in 1854.

International Students Apply

Application Fee for Internationa Student

The $70 state-mandated application fee must accompany all applications. Also, the application cost must be paid online using a credit card and is not refundable. Therefore, applications that are submitted without payment might not be processed.

How to Apply

A copy of the applicant’s passport or visa document must be included with the online graduate program application, and all the papers stated.

Types of Admissions at VCU

One of the following categories may apply to a student’s admission to graduate school:

Degree-Seeking Student

However, an applicant who has been recommended by the department or school where they want to study. Also, who satisfy all admissions standards for a degree program may be admitted as a degree-seeking students.

Non-degree-Seeking Student

Non-degree-seeking students are those who intend to enrol in graduate courses but have not been formally admitted to a degree program. As long as the student’s academic record is reliable, there is no cap on the overall number of credits that they can take. 

Students accepted into the program are given precedence in courses with a limited enrolment, followed by other graduate degree-seeking students at VCU. 

They do not exclude students who are not pursuing degrees from any prerequisite requirements that may be listed for a course.

Over six credits got as a non-degree-seeking student cannot be applied to a degree by a non-degree-seeking student who is later enrolled as a degree-seeking student.

What is a Good SAT Score for VCU?

With a 91% acceptance rate, Virginia Commonwealth University admissions are selective. However, SAT scores between 1060 and 1250 or ACT scores between 21 and 28 are required for admission to VCU for half of the candidates. 

Nevertheless, 25% of accepted applicants received scores that were above these limits, while 25% received scores that were below these levels.
