In Richardson, Texas, the University of Texas at Dallas is a public research university. It is one of the largest public institutions in the Dallas area and the University of Texas System’s northernmost institution. It began in 1961 as a private research division of Texas Instruments.
UT Dallas Admissions Acceptance Rate
Admission to the University of Texas at Dallas is selective, with a 79% acceptance rate. Students admitted to the University of Texas at Dallas have an average SAT score of 1220-1450 or an average ACT score of 26-33.
GPA Requirements for UT Dallas Admissions
UT Dallas expects you to be near the top of your class and well above average with a GPA of 3.83. Your transcript should be filled with largely A’s.
You should also have taken many AP or IB classes to show that you can handle academics at the college level.
If you are a junior or senior, it is difficult to change your GPA in time for college applications. If your GPA is at or below the school average of 3.83, you’ll need to improve your SAT or ACT score. This will allow you to compete effectively against applicants with greater GPAs than you.

The average SAT composite score at UT Dallas is 1350 on a 1600 SAT scale. This score places UT Dallas in the Moderately Competitive category for SAT test scores.
The New SAT 25th percentile score is 1250, and the New SAT 75th percentile score is 1450. A 1250 on the New SAT puts you below average, and a 1450 puts you above average.

3. Pay the application fee or apply for a fee waiver.
4. Please send in your official transcripts.
5. Following Submission
An admissions decision can take four to six weeks after they submitted an application, including all payments and any supporting documentation.

While it is not essential, they urge all applicants to submit additional resources such as
a. A response to an application essay from ApplyTexas or CommonApp
b. Recommendation letter(s) (limited to a maximum of three)
c. Resume
d. Official transcripts from college for dual credit courses

Submit your additional documentation using the “Submit Supplemental Docs” option in the Admissions Forms folder in the Orion Applicant Center within Galaxy. The college/testing agency must send official transcripts and test scores.
