About the University
The Institution of Connecticut is a public research university in Storrs, Town of Mansfield, of course, in Connecticut.
UConn, as it’s known, was founded in 1881 and offers millions of courses, but just a few of them apply to our readers. There are many Indians that apply here as well!
Acceptance Rate
Admission to the University of Connecticut is moderately competitive, with a 49.4% acceptance rate. As of Fall 2023, the University of Connecticut has 32,146 students.
There are 23,837 undergraduates and 8,309 graduate students in this group.
UCONN Admissions Portal Requirements
1. Completed application transcripts.
2. Application fees
3. Two letters of recommendation
4. Personal essay
5. Immigration status documents
6. SAT or ACT
7. English proficiency test score.
GPA Requirements
UConn needs you to be above average in your high school class with a GPA of 3.76. A balance of A’s and B’s is required, with more A’s than B’s.
You can compensate for a lower GPA by taking more difficult coursework, such as AP or IB courses. This shows that you can handle more rigorous academics than the ordinary high school student.
If you are a junior or senior, it is difficult to change your GPA in time for college applications. If your GPA is at or below the school average of 3.76, you’ll need to improve your SAT or ACT score. This will allow you to compete effectively against applicants with greater GPAs than you.

ACT Requirements for UCONN Admissions Portal
UConn’s average ACT score is 29. This score places UConn in the Moderately Competitive category for ACT scores.
The ACT score in the 25th percentile is 26, and the ACT score in the 75th percentile is 31.
Even if UConn says there is no minimum ACT requirement, if you apply with a 26 or lower, you will have a very difficult time getting in unless you have something else highly exceptional in your application.
Because there are so many applications with scores of 29 and higher, a 26 will appear intellectually inadequate.
