The cost of attendance (COA) is a projection of all expected costs for the academic year. They assess it based on your program of study, enrollment, and housing plans and calculated yearly using the legal guidelines.

The cost of attendance (COA) covers tuition and fees, on-campus housing and food (or a housing and food allowance for commuter students), as well as allowances for books, supplies, transportation, loan fees, and other miscellaneous costs.

The total amount of financial aid available to a student from all sources is only as much as their COA.

SXU Tuition Financial Aid

Many organizations provide financial aid to undergraduate students. They took all applicants for financial aid into account for institutional, state, and federal grants, loans, and work study.

New students may also be eligible for one of our academic scholarships. They give these to transfer students based on their college GPA and to new freshmen depending on their high school grade point average and ACT/SAT scores.

On October 1, 2023, the FAFSA for 2023–2023 became available for submission. To maximize your eligibility for financial aid, we encourage you to submit your FAFSA as soon as possible.

SXU Tuition Grant

A government financed program called the Pell Grant is available to undergraduate students who have a severe financial need.

For the academic year 2023–2023, award amounts range from $692 to $6,895 and are available for full-time, part-time, and less-than-half-time enrollment.

For undergraduate students with extreme financial need, SEOG is a federally supported program.

Depending on your financial need, the date you submit your FAFSA, the amount of additional help you receive, and funding allocations, the award amount can range from $100 to $4,000.

The Saint Xavier University Grant program provides undergraduate students with financial need with university-funded gifts. Amounts of awards vary according on financial need, the quantity of other aid, and the availability of funds.

They used your FAFSA results to automatically evaluate your eligibility each year.

SXU Tuition Loan

Federal Direct Loans are low-interest loans provided by the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan (Direct Loan) Program to assist students in covering the expense of higher education.

Students who qualify may borrow money directly from the US Department of Education. Depending on a borrower’s financial situation, federal direct loans are subsidized or unsubsidized.

Undergraduate students are eligible for subsidized loans, which are given based on financial need as shown by your FAFSA results. Starting on July 1, 2023, the interest rate for loans taken out for the academic year 2023–2023 is set at 4.99%.

SXU Tuition Scholarship

A state-funded scholarship program called Minority Teachers for Illinois (MTI) Scholarship Program is designed to increase the number of competent minority teachers in Illinois elementary and secondary schools with minority student numbers of 30% or higher.

They must enrol a graduate or undergraduate student at least half-time to be eligible to apply. Up to $5,000 in awards may be given each academic year.

The Early Childhood Access Consortium for Equity (ECACE) Scholarship Program is a state-funded initiative that promotes the acquisition of credentials and the advancement of already-held degrees in early childhood education in order to solve the scarcity of skilled early childhood educators.

Candidates must be undergraduate students enrolled at least half-time, be employed in the early childhood field, or have previously worked in the field. After receiving all other forms of financial aid, the award can cover the entire cost of attendance.
