Applicants seeking admission into the General Nursing Education program of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria must hold the senior secondary school certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with five credits, including English and either physics, chemistry, or biology, obtained in not more than two sittings.
- Duration of study: Three (3) calendar years.
- Attained registration: Registered Nurse (RN)
Post Basic Midwifery Program (RM)
Candidates are required to be registered Nurses and must fulfill all institutional requirements for admission into any of the schools of midwifery.
- Duration of study: One (1) calendar year.
- Attained registration: Registered Midwife (RM).
Post Basic Psychiatric Nursing Program
Candidates must be registered nurses and meet all institutional requirements for admission into any of the eight (8) schools of psychiatric nursing.
- Duration of study: One (1) calendar year.
- Attained registration: Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).
Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree Program (B. N.SC)
Applicants must have five credit-level passes in WASSCE/SSCE or its equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings. The subjects must include English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. Additionally, candidates must meet all institutional requirements.
- Duration of study: Five (5) calendar years with a one-year internship in a recognized healthcare institution.
- Attained registration: Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), Registered Public Health Nurse (RPHN), and Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).
- Academic qualification: Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (B.N.sc)
