School of Nursing Kano Admission Requirements 2023/2024
The 2023/2024 Admission Requirements for the School of Nursing Kano are now available online. If you aspire to enroll in a nursing school in Nigeria, submit your application to the school and familiarize yourself with the necessary prerequisites. This will enable you to adequately prepare for the admission process.
All candidates must ensure they have the required documents, including the Senior Secondary School Certificate with five credits. These credits should cover Chemistry, Health Science, English, Biology, and Physics.
The accepted certificates for nursing schools are NAPTEB, WAEC, and NECO. However, it’s crucial to note that NAPTEB may not be accepted in some institutions.

General Nursing Programme (RN)
To gain admission into the General Nursing Education program of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, candidates must have the senior secondary school certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with five credits, including English and either physics, chemistry, or biology, achieved in not more than two sittings.
- Duration of study: Three (3) calendar years.
- Attained registration: Registered Nurse (RN).
Post Basic Midwifery Programme (RM)
Candidates are required to be registered nurses and fulfill all institutional requirements for admission to any of the schools of midwifery.
- Duration of study: One (1) calendar year.
- Attained registration: Registered Midwife (RM).
Post Basic Psychiatric Nursing Programme
Applicants must be registered nurses and satisfy all institutional requirements for admission to any of the eight (8) schools of psychiatric nursing.
- Duration of study: One (1) calendar year.
- Attained registration: Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).
Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree Programme (B. N.SC)
Candidates must have Five Credits Level passes in WASSCE/SSCE or its equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings. Subjects must include English Language, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Mathematics. Additionally, candidates must meet all institutional requirements.
- Duration of study: Five (5) calendar years with one year of internship in a recognized healthcare institution.
- Attained registration: Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Midwife (RM), Registered Public Health Nurse (RPHN), and Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).
- Academic qualification: Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (B.N.sc).
