Admission Requirement

Requirements for admission into the General Nursing Programme of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria must possess the Senior Secondary School Certificate with five credits.

These credits include English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Health Science at not more than 2 sittings. Duration of Training: Three Calendar Years.

How Many Years Is the Midwifery Course in Nigeria?

The Basic Midwifery educational program like general nursing is a six-semester program of study.

Being a three (3) year course, each year has two (2) semesters and there is an examination at the end of each semester. The final qualifying examination comes after 3rd semester, 3rd year.

Can I Combine WAEC and NECO for Nursing?

Candidates must possess at least five 5 credits at not more than two 2 sittings. These settings include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in WAEC, NECO, and/or NABTEB. A combination of WAEC/WAEC, NECO/NECO, and WAEC/NECO is acceptable.
