Reasons Men Wake Up From Bed With Erected Private Organ

Morning wood, or what is known as, nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT) happen to men of all ages although it is very common among younger male from even early age.

Sometimes a young child of about 8 years old can even experience morning wood.

As men get older, from between ages 40 and 50, natural testosterone levels begin to drop, and as the testosterone level keeps decreasing, episodes of morning wood may decrease as well.

It is the situation whereby a man wakes up in the morning with erections. Sometimes it might make the male feel embarrassed especially when people are around and other times it can boost his confidence as a man.

Morning Wood is a healthy sign and it signifies a properly functioning blood and nervous system in and around a man’s private organ. It will become less frequent as erectile dysfunction issues begin to occur in a man, and those issues become more frequent with age.

What are the causes of morning wood?

Physical Stimulation: When you sleep, though your eyes are shut, your body is still very much aware of what’s happening around you. If you or your partner accidentally touch or graze your genitals, chances are that you may become erect. As your body senses the stimulation and responds with an erection.

Hormone Shifts: Your testosterone level is at its highest in the morning after you wake up. It is highest immediately after waking up from the rapid eye movement (REM) sleep stage. The increase in this hormone alone may be enough to cause an erection, even in the absence of any physical stimulation.

Brain Relaxation: During your waking hours, your body releases hormones to suppress erections. When you’re asleep, your body releases less of those hormones. Combine this fact with the other reasons you may experience an erection in your sleep, and NPT becomes more likely.

Having morning wood when you wake is an indicator of healthy blood and nerve supply to the private organ. And if you do not experience this, you might have some issues relating to your private organ and you need to visit a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
