However, the ITI Scholarships Program has created equal opportunities for everyone regardless of their origin. At this point, international students have no criteria excuse.

Nevertheless, the scholarship supports clinicians in advancing their skills in implant dentistry through international exchange and professional networking.

Scholars spend one year at selected centers worldwide, supervised by experienced ITI Fellows and each center organizes its program independently.

These centers offer comprehensive insight into implant treatment aligned with the ITI philosophy of scientific credibility and patient responsibility.

How to Apply

For the ITI Scholarship online application, provide detailed education and experience info. Have signed PDF copies of required documents (except photo) for upload to your application profile.

You will have to search for the ITI Scholarship program online and access their homepage to start the application process. You will also have to create an account or log in to continue.

1. A copy of your identity document (ID)/passport.

2. A personal letter of intent (no more than 2 pages) to the ITI Leadership Development Committee that explains why you think you would benefit from an ITI grant, with a focus on your career aspirations for the future.

3. Download the signed letter of intent as a single PDF file.

4. Two recent (current year) recommendation letters must be submitted. It must be handwritten and signed by a teacher, member of ITI, or equivalent.

5. One photo (passport size – JPG, minimum size 140 x 185 pixels).

6. Language certificate (not required).

7. Make sure you have the email addresses of your two contributors.

8. Study the list of ITI Fellowship Centers and choose two different centers’ application forms.

You can save and edit your application until the portal closes on June 30 at midnight. Remember to submit your application before the deadline.

Application Requirements

ITI Scholarship Program is for International Students which means students from all over the world can apply.

1. Diploma in BDS, DDS, or equivalent

2. At least two years of higher education in a dental specialty such as periodontics, oral surgery, prosthetics, or the like.

3. Alternatively, three-year clinical work experience as a qualified dentist, including implant-related experience, is permitted.

4. Postdoctoral training must be completed at the beginning of the scholarship year, but students still in training can submit applications.

5. Commitment to education and resilience for excellence.

6. Good knowledge of the local language of the preferred ITI grant center.

7. At the beginning of the ITI year, some ITI exchange centers require language certificates for non-native speakers.

If no requirements are specified, language certificates are recommended for non-native speakers, but it is not mandatory.

Application Deadline

Applying for an ITI Scholarship starts in June and remains open till June month end. Therefore you have only one month to apply.

When the portal closes by the end of June, a preliminary check is conducted to ensure that the professional requirements are met.

At the October meeting of the ITI Leadership Development Committee, the selection process begins.

By the end of March, you will receive the final status update of your application while September marks the beginning of the scholarship year.

How to Qualify for ITI Fellowship

Only nominations are accepted for ITI fellowships. This is the primary rule to qualify for an ITI fellowship.

Applicants must exhibit a high degree of engagement in a minimum of one of the subsequent domains: leadership in a dentistry professional organization, education, or research.

Only ITI Fellows with four years or more experience may nominate others for fellowships. Two additional ITI Fellows must endorse each nomination.

Twice annually, the ITI Board of Directors reviews nominations for fellowships.
