USC requires the following from first-year students:
1. Common Application and use Writing Supplements.
2. Official Test Scores: SAT or ACT. USC does not require the writing section for either the ACT or the SAT general test.
3. Official transcripts of all high school and college coursework completed.
4. Letters of Recommendation: One letter is required from either your school counselor or teacher. Some departments may require two letters of recommendation, For example, the School of Cinematic Arts.
5. Portfolio, resume and/or additional writing samples, if required by major. Performance majors may also require auditions.
6. Submit your fall grades via the common application or applicant portal.
7. Essay and short-answer responses.
For Transfer Students
USC requires the following from transfer students:
1. Common Application.
2. Official final high school transcripts.
3. Official college transcripts from all colleges attended.
4. Letters of recommendation (optional, although may be required for some majors).
5. Portfolio, resume and/or additional writing samples, if required by major. Performance majors may also require auditions.
6. Essay and responses to short answer topics.

For International Students
International Applicants must have the following:
1. Official copies of academic records from all secondary schools, pre-university programs, colleges, and universities attended. They must be submitted in their native language, with a translation in English, if the native language is not English.
2. External examination results, like GCSE/IGCSE results, IB or A-level results, Indian based examination results, Australian ATAR, e.t.c
3. Standardized test scores: ACT or SAT.
4. Financial Statement of Personal or Family Support, which includes: a signed form, proof of sufficient funds, and a copy of current passport.
5. English language proficiency test scores.
Admission Requirements for Graduate Applicants
USC requires the following from graduate applicants:
1. Official transcripts from previous institutions attended.
2. GRE/GMAT Scores or other tests. Scores are considered valid only if earned within five years to the month of your intended first term at USC.
3. Resume/CV.
4. Letters of Recommendation (may be optional for some programs at USC).
Additional Requirements for International Students include:
1. Official transcripts from all colleges, universities, and other post-secondary institutions you have attended. The transcripts must be written in their native language, and sent with an English translation, if the native language is not English.
2. Official English language test scores: TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores.
