Cost of Attendance
Direct costs are expenses that the College bills on a semester-by-semester basis. Tuition and required fees are direct expenses for a commuter student who is living with their parent or guardian.
Expenses that are not billed by the College are known as indirect costs**. As examples of indirect costs, consider housing, food, books/supplies, personal/misc., and transportation.
These prices are rough estimations of possible out-of-pocket expenses for students. Families should set aside money for these costs as a result.
Based on off-campus housing prices, food allowances, fees unique to different courses, health insurance plans (if chosen), and/or other academically connected costs, there might be variances between your real costs and these estimations.

TCNJ Tuition Financial Aid
TCNJ provides a range of financial aid alternatives to make college more affordable for students. This includes loans, work-study opportunities, merit-based scholarships, and grants.
During the application process, the Office of Student Financial Aid can offer tailored advice and assistance.

TCNJ Tuition Scholarship
Upon submission of their application, first-year in-state candidates to TCNJ are immediately considered for merit scholarships.
Based on a student’s total high school academic record, they give out these honors (including the strength of curriculum, GPA, class rank, and strength of high school).
TCNJ does not require students to take standardized tests, so we will not take those results into account when evaluating applicants for merit scholarships.
Less than 50% of admitted students have historically obtained a scholarship due to the depth of our applicant pool, making the scholarship process extremely tough. A merit award typically costs around $2,000 a year.
TCNJ is also pleased to announce that our scholarship program has been increased, effective with Fall 2022 candidates. The Presidential Scholarship’s prospective annual worth will be $12,000 in its first year.
Residents of New Jersey who, among other qualifications, are in the top ten percent of their graduating class and have a substantial level of interest in The College may be awarded this scholarship.
The student must maintain full-time enrollment and a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in order to retain their scholarship, which is given out at the time of TCNJ acceptance and is renewable for 8 consecutive semesters. For more information on scholarships, Click here.
TCNJ Tuition Work Study
In order to help to qualify students to pay for their post-secondary education, the federal work-study program offers them options for part-time employment.
Qualifying students receive aid based on FAFSA results, including part-time work opportunities in FWS-approved roles on and off campus.

In accordance with their class schedules, the program offers students the chance to work. For this program to be available, students must be enrolled at least half-time (1.5 Units per semester).
