Leiden University Excellence Scholarships

Hosted by Leiden University in the Netherlands, this program honors outstanding non-EEA and non-EFTA students. It opens to all full-time master’s programs at the university, making it one of the best scholarships in the Netherlands. However, LLM (non-advanced) and MSc programs at the Leiden Law School don’t go well with the program. 

The number of awards depends on the budget for each faculty department. The type of award also depends on these conditions. 

Benefits

Though it is not fully funded, the scholarship is desirable. It has three awards:

  • 10,000 euros for the tuition fee
  • 15,000 euros for the tuition fee
  • Total tuition fee minus statutory tuition fee

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must have an excellent study result in their education history. This criterion will be relevant to the Master’s program they are processing.

They should be among the top graduates in their previous programs to prove this. Though the platform doesn’t require this, it will aid the applicant well with the competition. 

The applicant must have a non-EEA or non-EFTA passport. All European Union countries are not eligible for the scholarship. 

You should know that the LExS is not a fully-funded scholarship, and students will have to pick up monetary responsibilities. Hence, they will need to provide ‘proof of sufficient funds for their student’s residence permit.

University of Maastricht High Potential Scholarships

The University of Maastricht conceived this program to aid highly talented international students with their education. The UM Holland-High Potential Scholarship offers 24 fully paid scholarships with other incentives. 

Its target audience is students outside the European Union with admission for a master’s at UM. Interestingly, the scholarship consists of a combination of a Potential and Holland Scholarship.

  • Less than 35 years old 
  • Excellent and outstanding results in earlier academic programs. These qualifications will show via the recent grade transcript or any other certification

  • First time participant in a higher degree scholarship program in the Netherland

Amsterdam Excellence Scholarships 

AES favors students from outside Europe who wish to pursue their academic goals in Amsterdam. It aims for highly talented individuals willing to make a difference. In fact, it is one of the best scholarships in the Netherlands. 

The program is for students pursuing their master’s program at the university. It favors specific courses more than others and has a non-specified number of awards. 

Benefits 

It is a full scholarship worth 25,000 euros for one academic year. Furthermore, the funding covers both tuition and living expenses and tends to extend for a second year.

Eligibility 

The primary requirement is to have a superb academic standing, being top 10% in their previous class. This criterion is because the scholarship focuses on academic performance and other career ambitions.

University of Twente Scholarships

The University of Twente is one of the most exciting universities in Europe. Twente offers this funding for students from both EU/EEA and non-EU/EEA countries. It covers all students applying for a graduate program at the University of Twente. 

Twente offers approximately 50 scholarships each season. However, like many others, it tends to favor excellent students more. 

Benefits 

The value of the scholarship ranges from 3,000 euros to a whopping 22,000 euros for a year. However, in programs with two study years, students may receive additional UTS of an amount as the first. Still, this additional funding comes if they meet the process requirements for the UTS. 

Eligibility 

All applicants must meet these requirements to stand a chance to participate in the scholarship. 

  • Admission into the university for the course you choose
  • Admission to one of the qualifying UT Masters programs 
  • You have a students number and stand as a first timer in the UT undergraduate program 
  • You passed all English requirements of IELTS 6.5or equivalent 
  • Ineligible for a Dutch study loan
  • Among the best 5 to 10 percent in the previous academic program 
  • In line with the conditions for obtaining an entry visa in the Netherlands
