ABUTH School of Post Basic Paediatric Nursing Admission Requirements 2023/2024
Applications are currently welcomed for the Post Basic Nursing programs for the 2023/2024 academic session at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Zaria. Prospective candidates are urged to submit their applications for the available Post Basic Nursing programs.
ABUTH Post Basic Nursing Admission Requirements
Prospective candidates aiming to secure admission into any of the Post Basic Nursing programs must fulfill the following criteria:
Post-Basic Midwifery Programme:
This 18-month program mandates candidates to possess five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO, or GCE, encompassing English Language, Mathematics, and three Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) within no more than two sittings. Furthermore, candidates must be registered nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
Post-Basic Ophthalmic Nursing Programme:
For this one-year program, candidates must be registered nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, having at least one-year post-qualification experience. An additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate or another relevant course could be an added advantage. The academic qualifications align with those of the Midwifery program.
Post-Basic Anaesthesia Programme:
This 18-month program similarly necessitates candidates to be registered nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. The academic prerequisites mirror those of the Midwifery and Ophthalmic Nursing programs.
Post-Basic Paediatric Nursing Programme:
Aspirants for this one-year program must be registered nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, possessing at least one-year post-qualification/registration experience. Similar to the Ophthalmic Nursing program, an additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate or other relevant courses could be advantageous. The academic qualifications align with the other programs.
Successful candidates will receive invitations for a written aptitude test, followed by an oral interview. During the selection interview, candidates are required to present all original certificates, licenses, evidence of sponsorship, and certificates of attended workshops, among other relevant documents.
How to Apply for ABUTH Post Basic Nursing Form
The process to apply is simple and conducted online, with the application form priced at N6,200. Follow these steps to complete your application:
1. Go to the application portal at www.apply.abuth.gov.ng.
2. Click on “Sign Up” to create your profile (remember your Login ID and Password for future use).
3. Choose “Check Forms on Sale” or “Apply Here”.
4. Pick your desired program by clicking “Apply” on the right.
5. Click “Apply” once more on the transaction page and then “Generate RRR” at the bottom left to obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).
6. Pay the fee online or print your transaction slip and pay at any commercial bank (ensure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank).
7. Return to the portal, click on “LOGIN,” and enter your Login ID and Password.
8. Complete all your details, agree to the terms and conditions, and then submit your application.
Upon the completion of your application, kindly print the form-slip and transaction-slip from your profile page. These slips will be required for the upcoming entrance exams or interview.
Important Notice:
Please be aware that document upload is not a mandatory step in the application process. However, it is crucial to ensure that all your information is accurately filled in before applying.
Once your application is submitted, proceed to your profile page and locate the “MY FORMS” section. There, you can print both the form-slip and transaction-slip, which are obligatory for the entrance exams or interviews.
Remember to bring these slips with you on the designated day.
