About Pretoria Boys High School

A typical boys’ school, Pretoria Boys High School is situated on an 85-acre campus southeast of the city’s core. It is one of the province’s oldest schools and dates back to 1901.

Admission Procedure

Grade 8 Application Procedure

For this institution, the Department of Education Online application procedure must be used. Once the Department has finalized the dates, the procedure and dates will be displayed here.

I will announce which supporting documents are necessary. The boy’s Grade 7 year is the first year this process is initiated (and not prior to this).

Grade 9 to 11 Application Procedure

The Headmaster will administrate and make admission decisions under the SGB admissions policy, as decided by the School Governing Body.

They must fully complete all application forms, sign, and sent them with:

• a copy of each biological parent’s identification document
• an unaltered copy of the applicant’s birth certificate
• a duplicate of the applicant’s most recent academic transcript
• Utility bills or a lease agreement in the applicant’s parent’s or legal guardian’s name, for a minimum of one year, must serve as proof of residential address.

They will accept applications starting at the first of September each year (for admission to the School for the following year).

Applications will only be taken into consideration if there is space available and if the applicant satisfies the criteria outlined in the Admissions Policy, as approved by the School Governing Body.

It should be the parent’s or legal guardian’s home address. Proof of legal guardianship (as recognized by SA law), together with a promise to pay school tuition, must be included with the application if the guardian is not the child’s biological parent.

The applicant must maintain a residence there on a long-term basis.
