Unisa Late Applications for 2024
The University of South Africa’s (UNISA) application requirements and registration requirements are just two of the many things to think about.
Unfortunately, Unisa has made it clear that after the application deadline has passed, no late applications or documentation will be accepted.
However, you will need to reapply during the following Unisa application season if you want to apply for admission to the 2024–2024 academic year.
The reason for this is that because Unisa always treats applicants as “first-come, first-served,” they always advise potential applicants to submit their applications well in advance so that they can be received by the university’s officials in time to be processed on schedule.
The institution has further said that it will only consider applications for admission for 2024 if there are openings in the programs or qualifications that the applicant wishes to pursue.
- Semester modules: 5th January – 12th February 2024
- Year modules: 5th January – 11th March 2024
Registration to Master’s & doctoral qualifications dates:
- 5th January – 31st March 2024 (some exceptions apply)

Follow the steps below to apply online for admission:
- Go to UNISA’s online application portal.
- At the top of UNISA’s page, click on the “Admission tab”
- Then, you scroll over to “Apply for Admission”
- Choose your preferred qualification (Undergraduate qualifications, Honours degrees & postgraduate diplomas, Master’s & doctoral qualifications, or Short Learning Programmes (SLPs)

Unisa Late Applications for 2024 Registration
The following qualifications’ opening and closing dates are listed below under UNISA’s most recent online publication:
- Applications for undergraduate admission to the academic year 2024 have ended. The application period ran from 11 August 2024 to 15 October 2024.
- Applications for the academic year 2024 for postgraduate diplomas and honors degrees are no longer being accepted. The application period ran from 11 August 2024 to 15 October 2024.
- If there are still openings for the 2024 academic year, they can notify new application deadlines on UNISA’s website, so make sure to check it frequently.

For the academic year 2024, master’s and doctorate applications are still being accepted! The application period is from September 8, 2024, through November 12, 2024. Apply today, then! They will accept only those qualifications that still have openings after this window closes through the end of January.
However, there are a few exclusions for Masters and doctoral degrees. Outside of the above application dates, you may submit an application for the following qualifications:
- Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology – Consulting Psychology
- Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology
- Master of Commerce in Industrial and Organisational Psychology
- Master of Education in Education Management
- College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences – MSc in Nature Conservation
- College of Economic and Management Sciences – Qualifications in the Department of Decision Sciences
- College of Science, Engineering and Technology – Qualifications in the College of Science, Engineering and Technology (except for Computer Science and Information Systems qualifications)

Because of this, Unisa always advises anyone who wants to apply to study at UNISA to do so as soon as possible and make sure it reaches the institution’s administrators on time.
Additionally, keep in mind that Unisa only accepts applications submitted online, and that admittance to a qualification is not guaranteed—it depends on whether you meet the prerequisites and whether there is room available.
