Did you get a notice that your application was declined? Or you applied for the SASSA grant on their electronic platform? if your answer is yes, then continue reading.
How do I appeal if the SRD grant is declined?
You can challenge SASSA’s ruling at the Independent Tribunal for Social Assistance Appeals within 30 days, but not more than 90 days.
Therefore, if you are one of the applicants who saw their SRD grant application declined and you are not sure about how to appeal for your R350 grant.
Follow this step.
- Visit srd.dsd.gov.za
- Click on the green bar that says ‘click here to lodge an appeal or check appeal status‘
- Enter your ID number
- Enter your cellphone number
- Click ‘send pin’ and wait for the SMS, which will contain the verification pin
- Enter the pin and click ‘submit’
- Select the month you are submitting an appeal for
- Select the drop-down arrow and choose the reason for your appeal
- Click ‘submit’
Check that the information you provided to SASSA, which is reflected on the SRD DSD Appeal Platform, is complete and correct.
Update your contact information where necessary. This is very important in the event that your appeal is successful. If your appeal is successful, the Independent Tribunal will direct SASSA to start the payment process immediately.
Furthermore, you must appeal for each month that your request was declined. Applications for appeal will be reviewed by an independent tribunal.
