PYEI-BEEI itself is a programme for youths aged 18 – 34 years who are currently unemployed and looking for opportunities. This programme will help them to look for opportunities in the sectors that fit them and need their help the most.

Eligibility and Requirements
To apply for the opportunity in PYEI Education and General School Assistant 2024, you should have the minimum requirements below:
- All SA residents aged 18 – 34 years old
- Must live within 30km of a farm/rural school
- This phase is targeting a new group of youth that did not participate previously
Other requirements in the education field:
- For the EA position, a minimum of matric is required but preference is given to those with tertiary qualifications, especially in Education
- Reading Champions
- E-Cadres
- Curriculum Assistant
- Care and Support Assistant
- For the GSA position, no matric is required
- Sport & Enrichment Assistant (SEA)
- Handymen or women

- Register – for this process you only take 4 minutes of your time.
- If you are already registered in SA Youth or Harambee, you can just log in using your account details.
- After registering, you can find opportunities in the schools closest to the address. If you still can’t find any, try to search for “education assistant” or “general assistant“.
- You have 3 weeks to apply. And because there’s no effect on the time you apply, and you’re being selected so you can try when the system is not busy.
- For reference number HAR2293, the contract will start on 1 March – 30 September 2024. While for reference number HAR2296, the contract will start on 1 February 2024 and 1 May 2024
