About Central University of Technology (CUT)

The university (when still known as the “Technikon Free State”) opened its doors in 1981, with 285 students enrolled in programs mostly focused on secretarial, art, and design.

Today, the school counts more than 21 000 students who have decided to make CUT their academic partner in acquiring a certificate and gaining relevant work-integrated learning to equip and prepare them for professional activity.

CUT embraced its new status as a university of technology (UoT) with the reform of the higher education sector in 2004 and positioned itself to succeed as such.

Qualifications are available through four faculties: the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences, the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology (IT), and the Faculty of Management Sciences.

In order to improve the creation of world-class postgraduate programs and high-quality research outputs, the university offers certificates and diplomas at the undergraduate level.

➤  Step 1: Visit the Central University of Technology website and click on the Admission > Apply for Admission (CUT Online Application) link for undergraduate students or postgraduate applicants, from there you will be able to make your selection and proceed to the Registration, Application, and document uploading stage.

➤  Step 2: Central University of Technology CUT Online Registration; after clicking the link on step one above, it will direct you to the Central University of Technology Online Application System form where you should fill in all the required information.

  Step 3: Upload supporting documents; Everyone applying for a new qualification must submit the required documents (all first-time applicants and Central University of Technology students starting a new qualification).

  Step 4: CUT Application fee payments: Pay the application fee once you’ve received a student number from the Central University of Technology. Use the student number you receive from the Central University of Technology and the application fee reference number (i.e. STUDENT NUMBER 5370810030).
