What’s in My Medical Records?
Your medical file contains the following information:
1. Results include all laboratory tests, X-rays, other diagnostic examinations, and medical care you had while you were in the hospital or receiving outpatient therapy.
2. Reports from doctors about tests, operations, treatments, and drugs.
3. Observations made by nurses and other medical professionals on your care team.
Can My Doctor Outside of U of M Access My Records?
The University of Michigan takes part in a state-wide health information exchange (HIE) that gives other medical professionals and facilities access to patient data that we have gathered.
