The UKZN Learnership Program application has kicked off in earnest for young South African persons. Therefore, The UKZN invites students to apply for Learnership Programme 2024.

UKZN Learnership Program is designed to help graduates on the Bachelor’s level that wants to do or experience Learnership just before starting out in life on their own.

Scholarship Application Closing Date: 31 March 2024
The University of KwaZulu-Natal is inviting students to apply for the Archbishop Denis E. Hurley Educational Award. The scholarship is open to Honours degrees students (who intend to pursue Masters and PhD studies) in ANY field, at UKZN.
The Scholarship award is named in memory of Archbishop Denis E. Hurley, who was committed to leadership, ethical vision, community cooperation and community development, across a broad sweep of the human and social sciences.
Requirements
Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be enrolling for Honours degree at the University of KwaZulu-Natal
- You must intend on progressing to pursue Masters and PhD studies
- You must be from a previously-disadvantaged background
- You must have a strong academic record
- You must have exceptional leadership qualities
- You must have an ethical vision for society
- You must be involved in community service
- You must be willing to follow a career in community or University academic service

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your completed application form (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application may be disqualified):
- Full detailed Curriculum Vitae (maximum 5 pages)
- Most recent degree
- Full Academic transcript
- 1 or more referee reports commenting on your leadership/ community involvement
- Abstract of your research dissertation proposal (maximum 3 pages) OR a motivation for your chosen research area
- Motivational letter stating why you should be considered for this scholarship (1 page)
