The University of Mpumalanga, UMP has enabled a portal that will guide prospective students through the admission process. Start with the steps out-listed below to begin.
- Click here to apply, accept the application rules and click “continue”
- Capture your biographical information and click “next” to proceed with your application;
- Capture results details then add subjects and click “next”;
- Capture educational institution detail and click “next”;
- Capture academic application details (choose 2 choices/programs you wish to apply for), click on “add the qualification” and thereafter click “next”;
- Verify/Check your application details then click “continue”;
- Create your 5-digit PIN (e.g 24689), click “I accept” (twice) checkbox thereafter click “Submit Application”;
- Upload your documents, select “yes” on the dropdown list if all your documents are ready to be uploaded, and then click “next”;
- Click “Load/View Document” >> “Upload document” >> “Choose/Browse file” go to the folder where they stored your documents, choose the relevant document, and click “save”;
- Click “complete upload” when you have uploaded all documents

For South African Applicants
- Certified copy of your Identification Documents (ID)
- Certified copy of your Grade 12 exam results or
- Certified copy of your Grade 11 (if you’re currently doing Grade 12)
- Email address and Phone Number.
For International Applicants
- Certified copy of your Identification Document (ID) of your home country.
- Certified copy of your home country’s Passport Number.
- Study Visa in South Africa.
- English Proficiency.
- Medical Aid.
- Proof of IELTS at an overall score of 6 and TOEFL at an average score of 80–104 for Undergraduate programmes.
- Copy of University of Mpumalanga English Language Programme Test (if necessary).
University of Mpumalanga UMP Application Fees 2024
What is the cost of UMP application fees for the 2024 intake? South African applicants must pay a mandatory and non-refundable R150 processing fee for admission to the University of Mpumalanga.
Applicants from other African countries must pay R350. They will charge applicants from outside Africa R500.

Important Things to Note About UMP Admission 2024
- Inconsistency in name or picture on registration slip is unacceptable to the university and may cause candidates being disqualified.
- Candidates’ names must match on their ‘A’ or ‘O’ Level certificates and other registration documents.
- Candidates must be sixteen (16) years old or older to take part in the exercise.
- A change in program after they have submitted the application forms will NOT be permitted.
- Candidates must use their own valid personal telephone (GSM) numbers and email addresses to register.
- Applicants must ensure that they post application forms early enough so that they arrive before the submission deadline, as forms received after the deadline will not be processed.
- Because they do online registration, candidates are not required to be physically present on the university campus, but are encouraged to do so from any location.
- Following the submission of completed application forms, no additional documents will be accepted.
